Ravintsara – Organic essential oil
Cinnamomum camphora
Camphor leaf essential oil (ravintsara) is obtained in the process of steam distillation of leaves of the Cinnamomum camphora plant which grows in Madagascar. Reminiscent of eucalyptus essential oil, ravintsara has a typical fresh, spicy fragrance, but with a more pleasing and mild undertone.
It is rich in oxides and often used in the colds season due to its soothing effect on the respiratory system. This kind of essential oil is also appreciated due to its antiviral activity. That is why it is frequently used in preventive lip care products for its suppressing effect on herpes outbreaks.
